Thonon is a town blessed by nature, situated as it is on the banks of the Léman – a veritable miniature inland sea, 73 km long at most 14 km wide with a maximum depth of 310 m, delimiting the frontier between Switzerland and France. Its setting and its many activities explain the attractiveness of the town and region, namely, the Chablais which is the northern most region of the French Alps.

From the blue of the lake, which is kept in constant movement by innumerable aquatic activities, to the green and white of the mountains where all kinds of sports are practised, to
say nothing of the many cultural and festive events that take place throughout  the year, pleople would find it difficult not ot find something to do during their holidays.
At a distance of only 30 km from Geneva, with its prestigious banks and international organisations, Thonon knows well how to make the best of its famous neighbour. The Geneva-Cointrin airport is only three quarters of an hour from the town.

From time immemorial the Léman and its region have been regarded as blessed by the gods. The vast expanse of water reflecting the twinkling of the stars instilled in the inhabitants of this region the conviction that surnatural worlds were close by and that they received frequent visits from the creatures populations them.  For them, “good fortune lives on the Léman”; all you need is a pair of good eyes to see it.
